Daenerys
Series: Game of Thrones
Worn to: Katsucon 14, Fanime 14, Katsucon 15, D*C 17
Difficulty: 4/5
I love GOT and knew that I wanted to make one of Dany's outfits. After going back and forth several times, I eventually decided to make the final rendition of her blue dress with the beautiful, sporadic beading. Lucky for me, the costume designer of Game of Thrones was extremely transparent about her design and even provided a step-by-step of the dragon scale fabric manipulation technique. The tutorial was extremely helpful and made my life much easier!
I drafted a pattern for the dress using trial and error and, once the outer shell was complete, I tacked on the dragon scale, beads, floss, and other details by hand. I attached the lining by hand as well. Another portion that took a great deal of time was adding the silver “dash” detail to the skirt.
The necklace was sculpted from sculpey and wire and wig was just a lace front ebay find, which worked out fairly well.
