Emilia
Game: Dance Central
Worn to: Sakuracon 11
Difficulty: 2/5
I don't usually play video games but I really enjoy dance games like Dance Central. My friends are also fans of the game and when my friend joked that we should cosplay characters from the game, we jokingly agreed. Somehow we ended up making them for real!
The only piece that involved any real work was the jersey. I started off with white and blue jersey and blue peachskin. I dyed the white jersey yellow using polyester dye and drafted the shape of the shirt using muslin. I used heat n' bond and a blown-up stencil to create the numbers and finished all of the edges with more blue peachskin. I chose peachskin because it doesn't fray very much and is has the same "sheen" as the jersey. The shorts were bought and I already had the shoes. The wig was a very cheap wig from China that I hacked up and put into pigtails. The socks were regular blue-striped socks and I just painted the yellow stripes.
