MEDUSA'S REVENGE
Role: Medusa
Event: Youmacon 2018
Premise: Mmm...revenge.
Awards: C4 Team USA 2019
Thoughts: Krystal and I had been eyeing C4 for years and knew this would likely be our last shot at competing for C4 for a while. Because of that, we really pushed ourselves with creating challenging costumes and choreography. There were a lot of "firsts" for us in this skit but I'm happy with how it turned out!

THE MOON GIRL & FOREST GIRL
Role: The Moon Girl
Event: Holiday Matsuri 2016, CICAF 2017
Premise: Two girls from different worlds must cross the sky to find true love.
Awards: CICAF Team USA 2017
Thoughts: Krystal and I decided to tell the sweet story of the Moon Girl and the Forest Girl for Holiday Matsuri 2016. We did our best to incorporate the sweet, storybook elements from the original story, as well as the original dialogue.

DBZ: THE ULTIMATE BATTLE
Role: Vegeta (in Part 2)
Event: Fanime 2013
Premise: ON THE NEXT EPISODE OF DRAGONBALL Z...
Award(s): Best Comedic Skit(s)
Thoughts: THIS IS A TWO-PART SKIT. PLEASE WATCH THE TOP SKIT FIRST, THEN THE BOTTOM SKIT.
Dragonball Z is legendary for its slow pace and cliffhanger endings. Naturally, we thought it would be really funny and appropriate to do a DBZ skit that ended with a cliffhanger. Then things got weird and we decided it would be even funnier if we did a second skit, picking up where the first cliffhanger skit left off. Of course, this would require 2 sets of costumes, 2 sets, 2 cuts of audio, and double the preparation of a normal skit, but we were in love with the idea so we got to work and entered the masquerade as "Ninja of" and "The Night". This is one of my favorite skits; cosplaying Vegeta is one of my all-time favorite memories!

ALL EYES ON ME
Role: Doll
Event: Fanime 2012
Premise: Ladies and gentlemen, step right up and feast your eyes on the quirky cast of the Noah's Arc Circus!
Award(s): Design Award, Best Advanced Craftsmanship
Thoughts: For this skit, we wanted to try something high-energy, fun and theatrical. The goal was to replicate the controlled chaos and silliness found in a real circus, while challenging ourselves with complex costumes, a big cast, a large set and lots of props. Every aspect of this skit brought about huge challenges and I'm so happy we were able to pull through in the end. Everyone worked really hard and I'm proud that we were able to create something so large!

INSERT SUBJECT NAME HERE
Role: Chell
Event: Fanime 2011
Premise: An artistic interpretation of the (fantastic) game, "Portal"
Award(s): Best Dramatic Performance
Thoughts: We really worked our butts off with this skit and, while it isn't perfect, I am proud that we were able to create something new and different. Actually, this skit received a HUGE amount of recognition online and was watched over a million times on Youtube! It has also been featured on G4's "Attack of the Show", Kotaku and MSNBC, just to name a few. Thank you to everyone for making this skit a success!

.FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS
Role: Sealand (Voice: Sealand)
Event: Sakuracon 2011
Premise: An uninvited guest "barges" in on a meeting of the Nations.
Award(s): N/A
Thoughts: For our last Sakuracon performance, we wanted to do something slightly outside of our comfort zone. We wanted to create a coordinated flag routine to the theme of Hetalia. In addition, we hoped to replicate the "feel" of Hetalia by using a lot of jokes, characterization and chaos. In the end, I think we accomplished just that. My favorite part of the skit is that I can watch the skit 10x and notice something new every time, simply by watching the characters in the background. Plus, I got to play a kazoo.

PRINCESS TUTU
Role: Rue
Event: World Cosplay Summit 2010
Premise: A sad, lost girl encounters a seemingly terrifying raven monster. Inspired by Rue and Mytho's end-of-series relationship.
Award(s): N/A
Thoughts: My friend Krystal and I were fortunate enough to represent the US in the World Cosplay Summit 2010. The costumes, music and performance were pulled together in six weeks, which was an enormous challenge. The story was inspired by Beauty and the Beast, which is an easily understood concept, regardless of language. The music is a beautiful piece called "Oceanic", a remix of "Aquarium" (the theme commonly tied to Rue and Mytho in the series). It was a privilege to perform in Japan and something I will never forget.

FUSHIGI YUUGI
Role: Miaka
Event: Fanime 2010
Premise: Best friends Yui and Miaka stumble upon an ancient book and are transported into the story. After gaining priestess powers, their friendship is tested and jealousy threatens to tear the girls apart.
Award(s): WCS Team USA Winners
Thoughts: Our goal with this performance was to communicate the story of Miaka and Yui without dialogue. We created most of the choreography at the con, which took several very late nights and a lot of patience. We had no expectations and just tried our best so we were absolutely overjoyed to win!

HOW 2B A MASTER
Role: Jessie (Voice: Jessie)
Event: Sakuracon 2010
Premise: Follow Ash Ketchum as he learns the 5 steps he must take to become a Pokemon master!
Award(s): Best in Show
Thoughts: We wanted to create a 1950s style informational video based on Pokemon. The script came together surprisingly fast, as there are “at least 150” ways to poke fun at Pokemon. Other than the sets, which required a considerable amount of innovation and hard work, the skit was very low stress and we all had a lot of fun! Also, cosplaying Team Rocket is absolutely hilarious and I highly recommend it!

SAGA FRONTIER
Role: White Rose (Voice: White Rose)
Event: Youmacon 2009
Premise: Asellus searches for her beloved princess. However, their meeting does not go as planned...
Award(s): Best Journeyman Presentation
Thoughts: Megan and I decided to do graceful, pleasant skit to accompany our Saga Frontier costumes, though it didn't go as planned. After an hour of mixing music, we struggled to find an appropriate ending song so we started getting silly. An off-hand joke about Claratin made us laugh pretty hard (as most things do at 2AM) and we decided to incorporate it into our skit. We recorded the skit in our hotel room using the crummy mic on my laptop and old SFX from "Game of Life." It was a completely last-minute skit but I'm glad we did it - it was also Megan's first skit!

SORA THE EXPLORER
Role: Naruto (Voice: Kairi)
Event: Sakuracon 2009
Premise: In a parody featuring the children's TV show "Dora the Explorer", Sora journeys to find his friend.
Award(s): Best in Show
Thoughts: Although I was involved in the editing of this skit, I was never intended to be in the cast. However, I was thrown in as a last-minute addition and I could not be more thankful. This skit is definitely one of my favorites! It is one of our most technical skits and we had a fairly large cast so we all had to practice quite a bit. Our work paid off though because the audience was awesome - they laughed and groaned in just the right places and played along with us the whole time. Perfection!

THE GAME OF LIFE
Role: L
Event: Anime Central 2008
Premise: Light Yagami wakes up in a dark room, chained to a chair. A mysterious voice presents him with a gruesome choice: "play a little game" or die.
Award(s): Best in Show
Thoughts: This was the first skit I ever wrote and it won us a Best in Show at my hometown con!

BETWEEN LIFE & DEATH NOTE
Role: Naruto (Voice: Orihime)
Event: Sakuracon 2008
Premise: Three strangers find themselves dead at the hands of Kira. To restore their lives, they must first restore balance to the world...by defeating Kira.
Award(s): N/A
Thoughts: This skit is different from the rest of our work and came about when NOTN was still trying to find its "style". The storytelling is fairly dramatic. Good thing or bad thing? Up to you!

SUPER ELRIC BROTHERS
Role: Card Captor Sakura (Voice: Sakura)
Event: Sakuracon 2007
Premise: When Winry is kidnapped, it's up to Ed to save her. With the use of a mysterious green pipe as his doorway, Ed battles the clock and must travel through a series of worlds to find his friend.
Award(s): Best Veteran Skit
Thoughts: This was my first time performing in a skit and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I had very little to with the pre-production of this skit but just being a part of the cast was an amazing experience. It was my first time on stage since high school (and it shows) but it reaffirmed my love of theater and I knew I wanted to continue to do skits in the future.
