I planned and researched for this costume for maybe 6 months before actually buckling down to construct it. The fabric was all extremely inexpensive (purchased on Black Friday!) and I was able to use a pattern for the main dress and bodice, making my life easier. The blue fabric is a nice poly blend; the top is lined while the skirt is finished with a rolled hem to make the skirt as light as possible. The bodice was made from a stretch khaki fabric, denim, interfacing, and boning to keep it's shape and closes in the back with a separating zipper. The boots were purchased and the straps were made from wire, craft foam, and pleather. All of the boxes and pouches were made out of boxes I had collected over time and covered with green fabric. I wanted to make them myself to ensure that I was able to make them functional and they attach to my bodice using big snaps. The collar was just made out of white cotton and black pleather and is hand tacked to the dress to ensure it lays flat. The habit attaches to my wigs using combs and bobby pins. The gloves were leather gloves that I purchased and modified.
The clock was surprisingly easy. A friend picked up a neat little clock from a thrift store and I removed the backing and made a shell out of craft foam and cardboard. I cut out strips of each material and wrapped it around the clock many times until I had a relatively smooth, circular shape on all sides - almost like paper mache. When I had a smooth shape, I covered it in one final shell of craft foam. All of the details are either done in craft foam or cardboard. The guns were 2 toy guns that I picked up at a costume shop and painted + modified using cardboard and mod podge.
